In this role, you will join the Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) department to support the cell development team.
Important Features:
- Conduct an analytical strategy to efficiently and independently release and characterize AAV gene therapy vectors.
- Establish and manage systems that support routine cell culture and preparation of cells for analysis.
- Responsible for developing robust characterization tests for early stage development of the AAV process.
- Generate hypotheses and creative solutions to achieve project goals, set new experimental trends and overcome obstacles.
- Train junior analyst to perform cell culture and cell-based analysis. Collaborate effectively with a fully integrated team to facilitate project success.

Education and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology, genetics or equivalent field and related formal academic/professional qualification
- Previous work experience in the field that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job:
- Principal researcher: Bachelor's degree comparable to
- years, Master's degree comparable to 2 years and PhD comparable to 0-2 years. Assistant researcher: 6 years for a bachelor's degree, years for a master's degree and 2 years for a doctorate. In some cases, equivalency consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience is considered sufficient to qualify the individual for the position.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Direct industry experience leading teams responsible for development of release and characterization tests and/or working in a quality control laboratory.
- Extensive working knowledge of a wide range of analytical tools for quantification and characterization of AAV vectors with an emphasis on cell-based efficacy assays.
- Experience contributing to CMC strategy by contributing to a global development team.
- Demonstrates advanced judgment that balances technical feasibility, opportunity and impact.
- Demonstrates initiative and ability to use scientific creativity and knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to create an open and collaborative environment. relationships and work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
