What To Expect
Tesla's Cell Materials Engineering Group Is Seeking A Highly Motivated Individual As A Project Engineer/Coordinator For New Manufacturing/Refinery Engineering Projects. This Is A Cross-Functional Role That Requires Coordination Between Many Different Groups Inside And Outside Of Tesla – Especially The Supply Chain And Logistics Teams. As A Project Engineer, You Will Interact With Organizations Across Tesla, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Production Planning, Operations And The Executive Team. You Will Manage The Development And Implementation Of New Manufacturing Processes, Work Closely With Engineering Teams To Coordinate Supply Chain And Inbound/Outbound Logistics, Plan And Implement New Battery Material Expansion, And Build Productive Relationships With External Suppliers And Related Agencies. You Will Support Projects From Concept Through Installation, Integration, Commissioning And Transfer To Production.
What Should You Do?
Collaborate With Cell Engineering, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain And Other Support Functions To Execute And Manage Planning And Coordination For The Deployment Of Production And Delivery Facilities. Determine Project Details And Obtain Necessary Materials For Completion.
Develop Scope And Determine Parameters For Raw Material Requirements. Define And Manage The Tasks To Be Performed By The Cross-Functional Team.
Identify Creative Ways To Overcome Obstacles And Accomplish The Plan Despite Setbacks. Drive The Assessment And Selection Of External Equipment Suppliers And Integrators For Coordination Of The Selected Scope Of The Manufacturing Project.
Coordinate Internal And External Engineering Findings To Reduce Plant Design And Optimize Plant Operations And Availability.
What To Take With You
- BS In Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Or Related Field. Experience Working In The Development Of Chemical Processing Or Hydrometallurgical Systems Is An Advantage.
- Evidence Of Exceptional Ability, Including A Strong Understanding Of Cross-Functional Coordination And Demonstrated Ability To Apply This Understanding To Solve Challenging Technical Problems.
- Ability To Work And Communicate Cross-Functionally, Including Interfacing With Suppliers And Third-Party Companies.
- Proven Ability To Operate Under Pressure While Managing Multiple Priorities Simultaneously.
- Must Be Able To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment That Sometimes Requires Overtime.
- Ability To Learn And Work With New Technologies. Ability To Identify Problems And Develop Corrective Actions To Resolve Them.
