Equipment Operator, Folder - A Gluer's primary job is to set up, adjust, and operate a folding machine that folds printed materials to specified specifications, including fold types and quantities, paper size, and thickness.

what are you doing…
- Prepare feeder, glue system, folding plates, rectangular knife file, distribution stacker, packing station and inspection systems.
- You will be responsible for meeting the client's folding requirements, including construction types and number of folds, paper size and thickness.
- Install and operate an automated computer integrated control system.
- Commissioning includes the ability to continually improve delivery/setup times and production speeds while maintaining strict quality standards in accordance with cGMP and SOP.
- Operate folder/gluing machine according to customer instructions and applicable standard procedures. Ensure perfect work quality during use.
- Maintain the machine and area according to normal operating procedures.
- Proactively maintain daily and monthly production goals and schedules, communicating potential bottlenecks to management to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment
- Always keep the press and storage area clean. This includes putting tools and supplies away after use, properly removing all excess and trash after each drive, cleaning up any scraps or supplies and trash on the floor at the end of the shift, and maintaining the storage area. Perform all operations safely and efficiently.
- Follow good manufacturing practices in all areas of responsibility.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Assist in all pre- and post-production operations as directed by the manager.
- Assist with specific folder related preparations. Find and prepare materials for future runs.
- Responsible for the clean-up of the equipment.
- Remove and separate the product.
- Maintain a clean and orderly production warehouse to ensure F.I.F.O. stock control is followed.
- Understand and follow all SOPs related to filing operations. Keep the press room organized so you can operate as efficiently as possible.
- Follow all precautions when using production equipment or handling chemicals.
- All other tasks related to making press.
