Uses highly complex accounting principles when analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports and coordinating the implementation of accounting controls.
II. Main duties and responsibilities
- To successfully perform this job, the individual must be able to perform essential tasks satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and may vary by location.
- Prepares highly complex journals monthly for entry into general ledger system by gathering necessary information, analyzing and/or allocating costs, and preparing journal entry control train support. Analyze the accuracy of ledger accounts; analyzes accounts payable to ensure proper payments.
- Collects and analyzes financial data and prepares monthly consolidated financial statements and reports. Performs additional analysis of explanatory text required in reports and statements. Coordinate monthly financial package preparations and due diligence.
- Attends monthly financial meetings to discuss and review monthly financial reports. Helps prepare year-end resolutions. Prepares annual long-term and short-term financial statements in accordance with accounting guidelines and US GAAP. Assists in preparation of annual audit working papers.
- Provides expertise and guidance to other financial management personnel on appropriate internal and external financial management procedures and their implementation.
- Assists in preparing annual budgets, updates and strategic plans for assigned areas. Coordinate the preparation of monthly reconciliation entries to reconcile financial results.
- Prepares quarterly report for consolidation.
- Helps maintain and implement internal controls.
- prepares detailed financial reports in a timely and accurate manner; and satisfactorily completes individual analysis projects according to abstract project instructions.
- Assists department heads/managers in supervision of other departmental staff and professional staff as needed.
